Nagad Pays Tk 13.82 Crore to Postal Department as Revenue Share

Nagad Limited has provided Tk 13 crore 82 lakh 30 thousand 470 to the Postal Department as part of revenue sharing. The amount was paid from revenue earned between January 2024 and June 2025.

The cheque was handed over by Nagad’s Chief Financial Officer Afzal Ahmed to Director General of the Directorate of Posts Kazi Asadul Islam at a programme held at the Dak Bhaban in Agargaon, the capital, on Tuesday, March 24.

According to sources, under the agreement, Nagad Limited will invest in the service, while the Postal Department will receive 51 percent of the revenue and Nagad will receive 49 percent. Previously, Nagad had paid a total of Tk 14 crore 60 lakh 94 thousand 660 to the Postal Department at different times.

At the event, Director General Kazi Asadul Islam said that Nagad is encouraging customers by creating competition in cashless transactions and is contributing to increased government revenue. He expressed hope that in the future, annual revenue from this source would reach Tk 100 crore.

Nagad Administrator Md. Motasim Billah stated that the company is ensuring financial inclusion for the general public through technology. Currently, the average daily transaction volume stands at around Tk 1,500 crore. The company is playing a significant role in various government activities, including the distribution of education stipends, social safety allowances, and Family Card funds. In the future, Nagad will also take part in distributing benefits under the Farmer Card and stipends for imams and muezzins.
