Walton Welcomes Eid with a Wave of Smart Fridge Launches

Bangladesh's leading refrigerator brand Walton has unveiled seven new refrigerator models featuring the latest in smart technologies including IoT and AI, ahead of Eid. These high-tech fridges include an Android-operated smart refrigerator with a 21.5-inch display and Dolby sound system equipped with an 8-in-1 convertible mode; a three-door side-by-side model with IoT, AI Doctor, and other advanced features; an inverter technology-based reversible door model with convertible modes; bottom and top-mounted models with water dispensers; semi no-frost refrigerators with digital control displays; and slim-designed freezers.
The new product lineup was launched on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at a grand event titled “Mega Launch 2025” held at Walton’s corporate office in Bashundhara, Dhaka. The fridges were unveiled by Walton Refrigerator's brand ambassador, popular actress Bidya Sinha Mim.
Also present at the event were Md. Ziaul Alam, FCA, ICAEW, Additional Managing Director (AMD) and Chief Financial Officer of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC; AMDs Nazrul Islam Sarkar and Eva Rizwana; Deputy Managing Director Mofizur Rahman; Business Coordinator (Refrigerator) Md. Shahjalal Hossain Limon; Chief Marketing Officer Zoheb Ahmed; Chief Business Officer (CBO) for Fridges Md. Tahsinul Haque; Deputy CBO Md. Zaher Hasan; Senior Executive Director Amin Khan; Product Manager for Fridges Shahidul Islam; Brand Manager Mostafizur Rahman; and Azmal Ferdous Bappy, Head of the Research and Innovation (R&D) Center. The event was hosted by popular presenter Neel Hurejahan.
Speaking at the event, Walton Fridge CBO Md. Tahsinul Haque stated, “Engineers at Walton’s Research and Innovation (R&D) team are tirelessly innovating to deliver the world’s most advanced and cutting-edge technology products to customers. Their dedication has enabled us to bring refrigerators featuring globally pioneering designs and smart technologies to market.”
He added that Walton's newly launched fridges incorporate the latest in AI, IoT, and other smart technologies found in advanced refrigerators worldwide. “This marks a new era for Bangladesh in the manufacturing and marketing of high-tech refrigerators, and sets a new benchmark for our own technological capabilities,” he said.
Engineers from Walton’s R&D center explained that the new models use a specific wavelength of light to keep fruits and vegetables fresh and natural for longer, preserving their vitamins, minerals, and other nutritional properties. The UV-C technology in the fridges protects stored food from airborne viruses and bacteria, while the Intelligent Germ Terminator Technology neutralizes airborne pathogens. A three-layer Odor Safe Guard eliminates unpleasant smells, preserving food taste. With the smart control feature, users can manage the refrigerator by simply touching the top panel—eliminating the need to open the door.
The event also highlighted that customers will be able to purchase these advanced Walton fridges at more affordable prices than comparable products from other brands. While big display fridges from other brands cost over BDT 300,000, Walton’s Android big display smart fridge with superior viewing angles is priced at approximately BDT 200,000. Buyers will enjoy a one-year replacement guarantee, 12-year compressor warranty, and five years of free after-sales service.
