Md. Toha Bin Asad, a student of the 2023–24 academic session from the Department of Textile Engineering at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), has won a gold medal at the World Innovation Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2025 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The medal was handed over to him on Wednesday, September 24, following the conclusion of the competition.

This year’s event, held from September 21 to 24, brought together around 1,500 competitors from more than 25 countries, each showcasing innovative projects. Toha, alongside his teammate Zahid Hasan Jihad and their group, presented their project titled Hexaguard Rover in the IT and Robotics category, where they secured the gold medal.

Their project, Hexaguard Rover, is an innovative robotic system designed to support disaster-time rescue operations, surveillance, and security tasks in remote or inaccessible areas.

Sharing his feelings after the victory, Toha said, “It is truly difficult to put into words the moment of winning the gold medal. When it was announced that we had won, while I stood holding the flag of Bangladesh, I felt it was one of the proudest moments of my life. My family was overwhelmed with joy.”

He further added, “My teachers also expressed deep pride and said this achievement is a success for JUST as well. This is not just a medal but a shining example of how the talent and innovative power of Bangladesh’s youth can be presented on the world stage. I believe this success will inspire more young people across the country in the future.”
