IDEA Project Announces Grants for ICT-Based SME Entrepreneurs
The Bangladesh Computer Council, under the Information and Communication Technology Division, has announced grants for ICT-based SME entrepreneurs in the country through its “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy Establishment Project (IDEA)” initiative. The move has been taken with the aim of supporting the growth and expansion of the domestic ICT sector in the coming years.
According to the project authorities, selected entrepreneurs will receive a grant of Tk 50,000 each to support the expansion of their businesses. Interested entrepreneurs will need to submit their applications through the project’s website. After the application process is completed, a selection committee will review and verify the submissions before finalizing the eligible entrepreneurs.
The IDEA authorities said they will retain the authority to revise or modify the grant conditions or application process if necessary. Interested applicants have been advised to review detailed information on the designated website before submitting their applications.
The government expects that the Tk 50,000 grant will help local technology entrepreneurs improve the quality of their products and services and strengthen their marketing efforts.
According to a notice signed by the Project Director (Joint Secretary) of the IDEA project, Md. Julkar Nain Noman, the grant represents a significant opportunity for young ICT entrepreneurs in the country. He said, “We want talented entrepreneurs to be able to implement their innovative ideas and play an important role in the country’s economy.”
