Managing Director of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority, Md. Aminul Islam, has inspected the modern SCADA technology used for real-time monitoring of treated water supply within the organization.

SCADA is an automated monitoring and control system that allows the remote supervision and management of operations in various industrial or infrastructural facilities. In water supply systems, the technology enables real-time monitoring of water production, pressure, flow, and supply conditions. This makes it easier to quickly identify faults, improve supply efficiency, and enhance service quality.

As part of reviewing the use and overall operation of this technology, the chief of Dhaka WASA visited several facilities of the organization on Saturday, 14 March.

During the inspection, Md. Aminul Islam toured Zone–1 and 7 as well as Revenue Zone–1 and 7. He later visited Phase–1 and Phase–2 of the Saidabad Water Treatment Plant. During the visit, he inquired about the water treatment process, production capacity, and overall supply operations, and provided necessary directives to the concerned officials.

He also observed the monitoring of water supply operations through SCADA technology and expressed satisfaction with the effectiveness of the system.

Among those present were Deputy Managing Director (Finance) Md. Mizanul Haque, Deputy Managing Director (Operation and Maintenance) (Additional Charge) Shawkat Mahmud, the Chief Engineer, and other senior officials of Dhaka WASA.

The Managing Director said that everyone concerned must perform their duties with sincerity and dedication to ensure the supply of safe and potable water to the residents of Dhaka city. He also called on all officials to work in a coordinated manner to improve service quality by utilizing their talent, integrity, and experience.
