Bangladesh Railway Sells Online Advance Eid Train Tickets of 23 March
As in previous years, Bangladesh Railway has begun selling seven-day advance intercity train tickets online. From 8:00 am on Thursday, 12 March, return tickets for journeys scheduled on 23 March went on sale through the Rail Sheba App and the railway’s website.
In the morning, tickets for seats on all intercity trains in the western region of the railway network were released. From 2:00 pm, advance tickets for seats on all intercity trains in the eastern region will also be made available.
The decisions were taken recently at a preparatory meeting for special train services ahead of Eid al-Fitr, held at Rail Bhaban in the capital.
According to the railway’s schedule, tickets for 23 March will be sold on 13 March; tickets for 24 March on 14 March; tickets for 25 March on 15 March; tickets for 26 March on 16 March; tickets for 27 March on 17 March; tickets for 28 March on 18 March; and tickets for 29 March on 19 March.
It was also decided that tickets for 20, 21, and 22 March will be sold based on the sighting of the moon. At the request of passengers, 25 percent of non-AC coach tickets will be available as standing tickets, which can be collected from the originating station before the train departs.
Each passenger will be allowed to purchase advance Eid journey tickets only once, with a maximum of four seats per transaction. No ticket refunds will be permitted.
