Actress Iffat Ara Tithi, who came under public scrutiny as actor Zaher Alvi’s alleged “girlfriend” following the death of Alvi’s wife Afra Evanath Khan Iqra, has broken her silence. Responding to accusations that she was responsible for the breakdown of Iqra-Alvi’s marriage and Iqra’s suicide, Tithi dismissed such claims as baseless.

On Wednesday, March 4, Tithi shared a post on her Facebook page, including 44 screenshots of her personal chats with Iqra. In the captions accompanying these screenshots, she addressed several of the circulating allegations.

Commenting on the release of the chat screenshots, Tithi wrote, “I thought I wouldn’t make these public. I would provide them to the authorities if needed, to preserve everyone’s dignity. But the harassment I am facing left me no choice to remain silent. I have already given audio statements in some places. And for those presenting themselves as righteous, records exist—not only with me but with many others. If anything happens to me, I want these to come forward.”

She continued, “Without speaking ignorantly, take the time to read everything. These are casual conversations I had with Iqra, just a few days ago. I’m sharing these for now to clarify some points. There’s more. There is no option to call it fake, because the conversations still exist, and one screen record even has voice. Even if the public says otherwise, those who recognize Iqra’s voice will understand.”

Tithi added, “I trust that Actor Equity or other relevant organizations will conduct a fair investigation if they have access to these. And if anyone harasses or threatens me, there are many ways to bring this to the public. I never wanted to create trouble for the girls connected to you. I am helpless. If necessary, the records will also be submitted.”

In her lengthy post, Tithi asserted that the allegations regarding her relationship with Alvi are “misinterpretations” and “misinformation.” She clarified that her connection with Iqra had always been friendly and professional, maintaining regular and natural communication. Iqra had confided in her about family discord, personal distress, and depression at different times. Tithi emphasized that she never wished for Iqra’s marriage to break, and instead encouraged Iqra to stay active professionally and stand independently.

Tithi also noted that Iqra had shared her desire to move to the United States. In response, Tithi had told her, “You can say it! But even if you want to go, you cannot, because you love him. You are Rani, you are his Rani.”

Regarding the suicide, Tithi said, “How could I incite her to take her own life? No one can truthfully claim that I pushed her to end her life. She took her own life on her own.” She added, “If she had thought once about her child as a mother, she might still have been alive today. After becoming a mother, that is the greatest identity. I am not minimizing her pain, but she should have considered this as a mother before making such a decision.”

Tithi’s post also addressed Iqra’s family, claiming that Iqra herself had written about her emotional distance and distress regarding her family. Tithi wrote, “No matter what a girl goes through, she wouldn’t lie about her parents. I don’t blame them. But Iqra felt pain regarding her family. She felt abandoned by them. She wrote clearly that she had separated once in 2018 and asked her father to send her abroad, but they did not support her. Since then, she held resentment toward them, and never spoke openly again.”

Tithi concluded her post by urging relevant organizations to investigate if anything happens to her and prayed for Iqra’s soul. She wrote, “May Allah keep her well. May He grant her peace. May her eternal rest be peaceful. And from afar, may she pray for Rizik, so that his life may be beautiful.”
