Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended its flights to several Middle Eastern destinations following the outbreak of war in the region. The decision was taken on Saturday afternoon, 28 February.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines Public Relations Department official Bosra Islam confirmed the matter.

She said that all flights bound for Qatar, Bahrain, and Dubai in the Middle East have been suspended. “Particularly due to the Iran–Israel war, these countries are being affected. Considering the emerging situation, the decision has been taken to cancel the flights,” she said.

Following several rounds of discussions over Tehran’s nuclear program, the United States and Israel carried out a joint strike on Iran on Saturday morning.

The attacks targeted five cities, including Tehran. Cyberattacks were also carried out on the country’s state-run news media outlets.

Meanwhile, Iran launched retaliatory strikes targeting United States bases located in Israel and neighboring countries.
