Former Prime Minister and veteran politician, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, has been remembered with deep sorrow and respect by Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

In a condolence message, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb said Begum Khaleda Zia played a significant role in the expansion of institutional education in Bangladesh, the promotion of female education, women’s empowerment, the growth of the small economy, and the development of the SME sector. He described her as a highly influential and important figure in the country’s political history.

He noted that her role in the movement for the restoration of democracy in the 1990s, parliamentary politics, and various phases of state governance would remain especially memorable in Bangladesh’s political narrative. “With the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, a vast void has been created in the country’s political arena,” he said.

The Special Assistant further stated that throughout her long political career, she provided leadership amid numerous challenges and crises. “Her position and influence in Bangladesh’s multiparty political system are undeniable,” he added.

Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members, BNP leaders and activists, and her countless followers.
