Professor Dr Sohel appointed PS to education minister
Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), has been appointed as the Private Secretary (PS) to the Education Minister. This experienced officer of the 16th BCS General Education cadre also plays a strong role in advocating for the rights of education cadre officers as the Convenor of the BCS General Education Association.
Previously, from 2001 to 2006, he served as the Personal Assistant Secretary (APS) to Dr. Milon when he was the State Minister for Education. His extensive administrative skills and active leadership within the education cadre have led to his selection for this important position once again.
According to a notification signed by Md. Razibul Alam, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Administration and Establishment Branch, Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ministry of Education, on Tuesday, 24th February, this appointment will remain effective as long as the Education Minister holds office, or as long as he wishes to retain Dr. Sohel as his Private Secretary, in accordance with the ‘Ministers, Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers (Salaries and Privileges) Act, 1973’. During his tenure, he will receive the necessary allowances and other benefits as per regulations.
