The three-day international tourism fair ‘Bangladesh Travel Mart (BTM) 2026’ is showcasing how digital appointments and B2B networking can connect Bangladesh’s travel industry more effectively with global markets.

Organised by the Bangladesh Outbound Tour Operators Association (BOTOA), the event began on September 3 at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka and is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, September 5.

One of the key features of this year’s fair is a pre-scheduled digital business meeting system. Online appointment facilities have been introduced for buyers and sellers, allowing participating representatives to schedule meetings with preferred organisations in advance.

According to organisers, the system is designed to streamline B2B networking and facilitate the development of longer-term strategic business partnerships.

According to BOTOA, around 100 local and international organisations are participating as exhibitors. The organisers expect 60 trade buyers and nearly 15,000 visitors to attend the event.

Tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, hotels, resorts and destination management companies are participating in the fair. Their booths are showcasing visa-processing services, flight-ticket booking facilities, domestic and international travel packages and various promotional offers.

The fair has attracted visitors since its opening. With B2C facilities available, general visitors can directly visit the participating booths to compare travel services, packages and budgets.

BOTOA President Syed Golam Mohammad said the international trade platform is directly connecting Bangladesh’s tourism sector with the global market. He expressed hope that the initiative would create opportunities for new investment in the aviation and hospitality sectors.

BOTOA Secretary General Md. Shariful Islam Sharif said the online appointment-based format was introduced to ensure international-standard B2B and digital networking.

Organisers expect a larger turnout of visitors and business representatives on the final day. Through digital networking and pre-scheduled business meetings, this year’s event is positioning technology-enabled B2B engagement as an important tool for connecting Bangladesh’s tourism businesses with international partners.
