A special workshop titled “Workshop on AI for Students” was held at Rajshahi University (RU) under the theme “Learn, Use and Save the Future”, organized by the Information and Research Department of the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU). The workshop took place on Friday, January 23, at 4:00 pm at the gallery of the Faculty of Engineering in the Fourth Science Building of the university.

During the workshop, students were introduced to the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence (AI), along with discussions on its practical applications and future technological implications.

The training session was conducted by Sourav Barua, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the online learning platform Ustad. Prior to the session, he said, “It is impossible to imagine life without artificial intelligence in today’s world. The use of AI is increasing across almost every type of work. Through tools like ChatGPT, tasks such as image generation, preparing presentations, and managing spreadsheets can now be done very easily. If students develop proper skills in using AI, they will become more competent and competitive in their respective fields in the future. AI can significantly enhance problem-solving abilities and creative thinking.”

Speaking at the event, RUCSU AGS Salman Sabbir said that artificial intelligence is no longer just a technology but one of the most important tools for shaping the future. He emphasized that students must start developing AI-related skills now in order to face upcoming challenges effectively.

B. M. Nazmus Sakib, Information and Research Secretary of RUCSU, said, “The Fourth Industrial Revolution has essentially ushered in a new era driven by artificial intelligence. In this context, today’s program has been organized by the RUCSU Information and Research Department with the aim of developing university students into skilled and future-ready human resources. Such initiatives aimed at enhancing students’ knowledge and skills will continue in the future.”
