Rangamati Science and Technology University Students Celebrate Saraswati Puja
Students of the Rangamati Science and Technology University (RSTU) belonging to the Sanatan (Hindu) faith celebrated Saraswati Puja, worshipping the goddess of knowledge and learning, in a festive and devotional atmosphere through various religious rituals.
The celebration began on Friday, January 23, from the morning. Pushpanjali was offered at 11:30 am, followed by prasad distribution at 2:00 pm. Cultural programmes started in the afternoon, and the day-long festivities concluded with Sandhya Aarti at 7:00 pm.
Members of the Saraswati Puja Celebration Organizing Committee, including its President Turya Dewanji, along with students from various departments of the university, were present at the programmes.
At the invitation of Assistant Professor Dhanita Tripura of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, who is also the Convener of the Saraswati Puja Celebration Committee–2026, several university officials attended the religious event. Among them were Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Fakhruddin, Proctor of RSTU and faculty member of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources Technology; Assistant Professor G. M. Selim Ahmed, Assistant Proctor of RSTU and faculty member of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management; Assistant Professor Khokoneshwar Tripura of the same department; and Lecturer Md. Abdul Halim, Assistant Provost of the student hall and faculty member of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, among others.
