The “BSIA South Korea Roadshow 2026” will be held in South Korea from 11 to 14 May. This multi-day event will feature a range of activities aimed at strengthening collaboration among semiconductor industry companies, research organizations, universities, technology commercialization platforms, and government representatives from Bangladesh and South Korea.

According to sources, in an effort to advance the country’s semiconductor sector through global partnerships and sustain the momentum of the “Silicon River” initiative, the roadshow will include strategic meetings, technical discussions, networking, and partnership sessions. Key focus areas will include semiconductor packaging, artificial intelligence (AI) hardware, design, testing, technology commercialization, and emerging technologies.

Participating South Korean organizations and institutions include SK hynix, Hana Micron, the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, KAIST Global Commercialization Center, ETRI, McKinsey & Company, Korea Design House, CoolMicro, Y-Tech, Supergate, Nepes, Sienic Solution, Pines, and Growth Associates, among others.

In a press release issued on Sunday, 10 May, the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association stated that a key highlight of the roadshow will be a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony. The agreement will involve the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association, the Center of Research Excellence in Semiconductor Technology (Bangladesh), and the KAIST Global Commercialization Center (South Korea). Areas of cooperation will include joint research, student and skilled human resource development, exchange of researchers and knowledge, infrastructure collaboration, and technology commercialization.

It has been learned that the Bangladesh delegation will include representatives from BSIA member organizations, Purdue University, and the Bangladesh Embassy in South Korea.

Regarding the initiative, BSIA President M A Jabbar said the roadshow represents a significant step in connecting Bangladesh’s emerging semiconductor ecosystem with the global stage. He added that the goal is to build long-term partnerships through research, human resource development, technology commercialization, and industrial collaboration by learning from South Korea’s advanced semiconductor sector.

He further noted that the initiative is part of the broader “Silicon River” vision, which aims to advance Bangladesh’s semiconductor and deep-tech ecosystem through global connectivity, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
