IEB Honors High-Achieving Students from Engineers’ Families
The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), jointly organised by its Headquarters and Dhaka Centre, has honoured meritorious students from engineers’ families at a reception held at the IEB Auditorium in Ramna, Dhaka.
The event took place on Monday afternoon, December 22, where 205 students who achieved outstanding results in the SSC, HSC, O Level and A Level examinations were awarded crests and certificates. The awards were handed over by IEB President and RAJUK Chairman Engineer Mohammad Riaz-ul-Islam (Rizu).
Among others present at the ceremony were Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Engineer Md Khalequzzaman Chowdhury, Acting Honorary General Secretary of IEB Engineer Muhammad Ahsanul Russell, and Supervising Engineer of Dhaka WASA and Central Council Member Engineer Alamgir Hashin Ahmed.
The programme was chaired by Engineer Md Helal Uddin Talukdar, Chairman of the IEB Dhaka Centre. The event was moderated by Honorary Secretary of the Dhaka Centre Engineer KM Asaduzzaman. Welcome remarks were delivered by Vice-Chairman (Academic and HRD) Engineer Abdullah Al Mamun, while the vote of thanks was given by Vice-Chairman (Administration, P&S&W) Engineer Md Kamrul Hasan (Ujjal).
Also present were IEB Vice-President Engineer Khan Manzur Morshed, Engineer A T M Tanbir-ul-Hasan (Tamal), Engineer Sheikh Al Amin, Engineer Niaz Uddin Bhuiyan, Honorary Assistant General Secretary Engineer Md Mahbub Alam, Engineer Md Nur Amin, and Engineer Sabbir Ahmed Osmani.
Welcoming the initiative, speakers said children from engineers’ families are expected to play a significant role in advancing the country’s knowledge, technology, and development. The honoured students, in turn, pledged to contribute responsibly to the nation’s progress and development in the future.
The programme concluded with the formal presentation of honourary mementos to the meritorious students.
