DU Science Admission Test Set for December 27 as MIST Reschedules Exam on 28th
The University of Dhaka (DU) administration has decided to hold the postponed admission test of its Faculty of Science on the afternoon of December 27.
The test was originally scheduled to coincide with the admission examination of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). However, considering the large number of applicants who applied to both universities, MIST has announced that it will defer its examination by one day to December 28. As a result, the DU Science Faculty admission test will proceed as scheduled on December 27.
MIST authorities disclosed the decision in a press release issued on Monday afternoon, December 22.
According to the statement, the admission test for DU’s Science Unit for the 2025–26 academic year was initially set to be held on December 20. The examination was postponed following the declaration of a one-day state mourning over the death of former DU student Sharif Osman Hadi. Subsequently, the University of Dhaka decided to reschedule the test for December 27, to be held from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
The press release further stated that, at the request of DU authorities, MIST has postponed only the second phase examination of its Architecture Department, which was scheduled to be held on December 27 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The exam will now take place on December 28 during the same time slot.
However, MIST confirmed that the admission examinations for its Engineering and Architecture departments for the 2025–26 academic year will be held as per the earlier schedule on December 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
According to the admission notice, the Engineering and Architecture written examinations will be conducted on December 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Architecture practical examination, initially scheduled for the same day from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, has been deferred to December 28 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm following DU’s request.
