Over 467,000 Register for Postal Voting via ‘Postal Vote BD’ App
A total of 467,840 voters have registered through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app to cast their ballots by post in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) election.
The information was obtained from the Election Commission (EC) website on the evening of Wednesday, 17 December.
Registration through the Postal Vote BD app began on 19 November to facilitate voting by expatriate Bangladeshis and will continue until 25 December. Of the registered voters, 439,078 are men and 28,760 are women. The highest number of registrations has come from Saudi Arabia, with 118,582 expatriate voters signing up.
According to the EC, postal ballots will be sent by mail to the registered voters at their provided addresses. After casting their votes, voters will return the ballots to the respective returning officers using the return envelopes.
The 13th National Parliament election and referendum are scheduled to be held on 12 February 2026. Voting on the day will take place uninterruptedly from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
