Rangpur Review Rattled by Remarkable Images

During a departmental progress review workshop on livestock and dairy development held at the Rokeya Auditorium of RDRS in Rangpur, images of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unexpectedly appeared on the LED screen. The incident occurred in the presence of Farida Akhter, advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock under the caretaker government.

Embarrassed by the occurrence, Advisor Farida said, “This is actually humiliating. During the interim period, it is unacceptable for their (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina) images to appear over the blood of so many people. Similar incidents have happened before. Fascism has many forms. Some of these may be reflected in this way. However, whenever we are informed, we take immediate action.”

She added, “The project director informed me that this happened by mistake. He has apologized for it, and I have conveyed his apology to everyone through the media. Nevertheless, I need to investigate this matter further. Rest assured, I will definitely take action regarding this issue.”

The workshop began with a virtual presentation by Project Director Golam Rabbani, reviewing the progress of the project. During the presentation, images and quotes of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina appeared on the monitor screen, causing a stir among participants, though the presentation continued.

Earlier, leaflets featuring slogans and images of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina had also been found at the livestock stall during a previous information fair.
