Roblox Rolls Out ‘Moments’ and Revenue Boost for Creators

Roblox has announced the launch of its new short-form video app “Roblox Moments” and increased earnings for creators at its annual developer conference, Reuters reports.
The TikTok-style app, currently in beta, allows users to record, edit, and share gameplay clips.
The company expects that the billions of views its content receives on platforms like YouTube can now be redirected to its own ecosystem. Roblox currently has 111.8 million daily active users.
In recent years, Roblox has been developing beyond just gaming, building an integrated platform that includes e-commerce, social interaction, and advertising. Earlier this year, it introduced new ad formats and partnered with Google to strengthen its advertising segment.
At the conference, CEO David Baszucki announced that creators’ earnings would be increased by 8.5%, allowing them to earn more when converting their earned Robux into real money.
Notably, over the past year, creators collectively earned more than $1 billion through Roblox, with over a hundred games generating annual revenues exceeding $1 million.
