Atlassian Acquires AI-Accelerated Browser Firm

Atlassian has announced its plan to acquire New York-based The Browser Company for $610 million, marking the firm’s entry into the rapidly expanding AI-driven browser market, Reuters reports.
The Browser Company launched its Dia browser earlier this year, offering users contextual advantages by integrating various tools and functions across the web. However, the market already features strong competitors, including Nvidia-backed Perplexity’s Comet and Brave’s Leo, which have gained significant popularity.
“Atlassian plans to develop Dia as an office-centric browser, combining work tools, context, and collaboration,” the company stated. Although Microsoft’s Edge with Copilot integration is widely used in corporate settings, Chrome still maintains a dominant 69% market share.
Founded in 2019, The Browser Company previously unveiled the Arc and Dia browsers. Last year, it raised $50 million in Series B funding with a valuation of $550 million.
Atlassian emphasized that the acquisition would have minimal impact on its financial results for the 2026–27 fiscal year.
