“Youth Power in Artificial Intelligence”

A discussion titled “AIgnite-25: Empowering Bangladesh’s Youth through Artificial Intelligence” was held at Uttara University. On Thursday, 14 August 2025, the event took place in the university’s multipurpose hall, bringing together renowned professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across the country. They inspired the students of the university to harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence and provided various guidance. The program was jointly organized by Youth Upskill Network (YUNet), Youth Action for Bangladesh, Nutrition for Change, and Farhana’s Brainstation.

Highlighting the importance of integrating technology with human skills, the chief guest and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Uttara University, Professor Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami, said, “The human brain is far more valuable and powerful than AI. AI can make our work easier, but we must ensure that technology does not take over our intelligence.”

Students participated in an interactive AI quiz competition, with prizes awarded to the winners, making the learning experience both fun and fruitful.

One of the highlights of the event was the panel discussion on “AIgnite-25: Empowering Bangladesh’s Youth through Artificial Intelligence.” Syed Almas Kabir, Managing Director of AyAl Corp Ltd., former BASIS President, Advisor and former Director of FBCCI, and Chairman of Bangladesh ICT and Innovation Network Trust, emphasized skill enhancement for students, saying, “To prove your worth in the workplace, acquiring skills is essential. AI is helping us learn many things in less time.”

Experts from various industries also shared their insights at the seminar. Subha Afrin, Vice President & Head of Trade Product at Citibank N.A. Bangladesh, discussed her experiences in using technology to solve business challenges. Rezwan Arefin, Lead IoT Product Manager at Grameenphone, highlighted AI-driven innovations in telecom. Kazi Tafsirul Islam, Senior Lecturer at North South University, demonstrated practical applications of AI for students and entrepreneurs. Among the guests were Mohammad Aminur Rahman, Lecturer at University of Scholars; Minhaj-us-Saleheen Fahmi, Co-founder and Chairman of Battery Low Interactive Ltd.; and Md Altamis Nabil, author and tech evangelist. They shared valuable experiences with students on leadership, innovation, and the transformative potential of AI.
