Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, respected Vice-Chancellor of Gazipur Digital University (GDU), remarked that theoretical education alone is insufficient to progress in today’s technology-driven age. “Alongside theoretical knowledge, practical or applied education must be given equal importance,” he said.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the critical importance of the university’s specialized high-tech disciplines in building a technology-based society and nation. He expressed confidence that GDU’s students will play a unique role in constructing a technology-centric state.

The event was presided over by Farhana Islam, Acting Chairperson of the Educational Technology and Engineering Department. Special guest remarks were delivered by the university’s honorable Treasurer, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain.

Registrar Muhammad Ataur Rahman Khan gave the welcome address. Other speakers included Sumon Saha, Chairperson of the IoT and Robotics Engineering Department; Rakib Hossain, Chairperson of the Cyber Security Engineering Department and Proctor; Md. Moshiur Rahman, Chairperson of the Software Engineering Department; Tanzim Taharat Arpa, Chairperson of the Data Science and Engineering Department; Sujan Chandra Sutradhar, Chairperson of the General Education Department; Rubel Sheikh, Provost of the Student Hall; and Sharad Hasan, Director of Student Welfare.

During the program, students were informed about the university and departmental regulations. The event concluded with a warm floral welcome extended to the new students. Faculty members, staff, and freshers from various departments were also present.
