Digital Drive: Guardian Life and Green Delta Launch Nationwide E-Insurance Service
Guardian Life Insurance Limited and Green Delta Insurance have jointly launched a digital insurance service in Bangladesh. The two companies had previously introduced the country’s first digital insurance platform in 2018.
To provide insurance coverage for digital assets in sectors such as banking, telecommunications, and retail, the companies have already rolled out a user-friendly mobile app and web interface for all types of customers. Through these platforms, clients can easily purchase policies, pay premiums, and receive instant policy documents using their mobile phones—without the need for paperwork or visiting an insurance office. This initiative has allowed customers to enjoy maximum convenience through digital technology.
In advancing the digital transformation of the insurance sector, the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) has undertaken several forward-looking initiatives. One notable addition is the “Regulatory Sandbox,” which enables startups and licensed insurance companies to test new digital insurance products. This approach reduces risks while fostering innovation. The ultimate goal is to build a centralized, interconnected digital ecosystem that ensures transparency and delivers high-quality, efficient services.
