Gazipur Digital University has, for the first time, launched postgraduate programs, initially introducing two specialized departments: Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics Engineering, and Educational Technology and Engineering (EdTE).

On August 9, Saturday, at 10 a.m., separate orientation sessions for the two programs were held at the university’s academic building in Kaliakair, Gazipur.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the programs were launched “to meet the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and to develop technology-driven skilled human resources.” He added that the initiative would enable students “to participate in international standard research and in the development of innovative technologies.”

The orientation was attended by faculty members from various departments as well as the incoming postgraduate students.

During the ceremony, speakers noted that “in this technology-driven era, not only are teaching methods and content changing, but so is the very definition of skills.” They emphasized that the new programs “will open new horizons not only in education, but also in research and innovation.”

Suman Saha, Chairman of the IoT and Robotics Engineering Department, remarked, “Gazipur Digital University is not just a university—it is a guide to a technology-based future. Our aim is to produce not just degree holders, but capable human resources with research, innovation, and entrepreneurial mindsets—individuals who will not only seek jobs but also create employment.”

Farhana Islam, Chairman of the Educational Technology and Engineering Department, said, “The world is now technology-driven. Those who do not understand this language will be left behind. We want the youth of Bangladesh to be the leaders in technology.”

Since its establishment, this marks the university’s first academic offering at the postgraduate level.
