Pichai Projects Progress as Google AI Surges Globally

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced that the company’s AI-powered Search Overviews feature is now being used by two billion people every month, up from around 1.5 billion in May. The feature is currently available in over 200 countries and territories, according to a report by TechCrunch.
Additionally, Pichai revealed that the Gemini app now boasts 450 million users, with over 100 million active users utilizing the AI mode in the United States and India. He further stated, “Deep search and personalization capabilities will be added soon.”
Pichai also highlighted developer engagement, noting that over 9 million developers are currently working with Gemini, and more than 70 million videos have been generated using the company’s Veo 3 model.
Other AI-driven services are seeing rapid adoption as well. Google Videos has surpassed 1 million users, while over 50 million users have accessed the AI-powered note-taking feature on Google Meet.
In terms of scale, Google reported it is now processing 980 trillion tokens monthly across its AI infrastructure. However, despite the surge in usage and innovation, Google's share price saw a decline following announcements of increased capital expenditure.
