Walton Wins Triple at SDG Brand Champion Awards 2025
In the third edition of the SDG Brand Champion Awards (2025), Bangladesh’s tech giant and Superbrand Walton has been honored in three categories. Walton received the SDG Brand Champion Award 2025 for its sustainable clean energy initiatives.
The company was also named the Most Sustainable Electronics Manufacturer of the Year. In addition, Walton earned an Honourable Mention for its outstanding contribution to climate and environmental protection through sustainable practices.
The awards were presented at a ceremony held on the night of Saturday, July 12, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka. SM Mahbubul Alam, Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, accepted the awards on behalf of the company.
Expressing his reaction, SM Mahbubul Alam said, “The entire Walton family is deeply delighted and proud to receive the ‘SDG Brand Champion Award 2025’ in three categories. We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone involved in bestowing this prestigious recognition upon Walton.”
He added, “Alongside producing top-quality electrical, electronics, and tech products, Walton remains committed to environmental protection. Since its inception, Walton has ensured compliance in its production process through the installation of state-of-the-art, eco-friendly machinery and technologies. As part of our commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we have established a rooftop solar project and Bangladesh’s largest one-megawatt-capacity floating solar power plant at our factory. Walton has also undertaken projects to phase out environmentally harmful CFC and HCFC gases from refrigerators and air conditioners and has implemented various recycling initiatives for metal and plastic. As a result, Walton has received the Green Factory Award and the National Environment Award twice, including this year.”
The award ceremony was organized by the Bangladesh Innovation Conclave in collaboration with Sustainable Brand Initiative and Bangladesh Brand Forum. The initiative aims to recognize organizations contributing to sustainable development. This year, nominations were invited in 22 categories, with a total of 457 submissions received during the registration period from May 26 to June 30. Following a rigorous evaluation process, 60 sustainable initiatives, including Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, were awarded the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2025.
