"Dagi" Debuts This Eid: Arfan Nisho Bought a Button Mobile with Eid Salami
The web film Dagi, directed by Shihab Shaheen, is set to release this Eid. Arfan Nisho stars in the film as the accused Nishan. The movie is produced by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited, with co-production from the OTT platform Chorki.
A press conference was held in Dhaka on Thursday night to mark the film’s official launch. When asked about his Eid Salami memories, Nisho recalled using his grandmother’s Salami money, along with some additional savings, to buy a mobile phone.
"During Eid, I always received Salami. Back then, I wouldn’t accept anything other than crisp, new banknotes. I remember taking a little extra from my grandmother and buying a cellphone. It was a button phone at the time," Nisho said.
The popular actor also emphasized the importance of supporting the underprivileged during Eid. "Eid is not just for those of us leading a normal life. I always feel that it belongs to those who are struggling—those who cannot afford three meals a day. We should stand by them. Our religious teachings and social responsibilities call for us to fulfill these duties," he added.
