Oppo has introduced a new book-style foldable smartphone to the global market that blends a tablet-sized display with a slim and sturdy body. The device, named Find N5, is only 8.93 millimeters thick—26 percent slimmer than comparable foldable devices. Even when folded, the phone remains under 9 millimeters in thickness, and when unfolded, it measures just 4.21 millimeters. Weighing only 229 grams, it is at least 10 grams lighter than its closest competitors.

According to Oppo, “the Find N5 offers users the best of both worlds—a smartphone and a tablet—in a single, lightweight, durable device,” which the company claims is “the world’s lightest, thinnest, yet most durable foldable smartphone with water resistance.”

The phone uses a Titanium Alloy Flexion Hinge, with both its hinge cover and wing plates 3D-printed from aerospace-grade Grade 5 titanium alloy. Compared to the previous generation, the hinge is 36 percent stronger and up to 26 percent more compact.

Find N5 has passed TÜV Rheinland’s Reliable Folding Certification, surviving 100,000 folds between temperatures of 50°C and -20°C. Its frame is built from customized 7000-series aluminum, making it 30 percent stronger than its predecessor. The advanced aerospace-grade fiber back cover is 43 percent thinner and more resilient in drop tests. Inside the phone, carbon fiber and aluminum-ceramic composite materials reinforce the battery compartment, enhancing strength while reducing bulk. Its quad-stacking motherboard is 20 percent slimmer and up to 31 percent more compact than earlier versions.

The Find N5 is also the world’s first foldable smartphone to achieve IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 certifications, making it highly water-resistant—capable of withstanding real-life conditions like rain or accidental submersion. The device features an innovative multi-layer waterproof structure using adhesive backing and precision dispensing to create a robust seal.

While Oppo has not yet disclosed when the Find N5 will arrive in the Bangladeshi market or what its price will be, the company has stated it is not ready to share those details at this stage.
