ISPAB Initiative: Internet Engineers Trained in Rajshahi for Improved Service Delivery
Sixty internet service engineers from the Rajshahi region have received hands-on training in the latest technologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-speed internet services at the consumer level. The three-day workshop, organized by the Business Promotion Council under the Ministry of Commerce, concluded on June 23 at a prominent hotel in Rajshahi.
At the closing ceremony, certificates were distributed to participants by Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan, General Secretary of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB).
The closing session was chaired by Md. Shahidul Islam, Convener of the ISPAB Rajshahi Divisional Committee. Other attendees included ISPAB Vice President Md. Neyamul Haque Khan, Directors Rashedur Rahman Rajon, Md. Mithu Hawlader, Sabbir Ahmed, Raisul Islam Tuhin, Md. Zubayer Islam, and S.M. Saiful Islam Selim.
In his speech as chief guest, Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan expressed hope that the knowledge gained through the training would be effectively applied in the participants’ respective workplaces. “We are committed to organizing training programs based on demand in every division and district beyond Dhaka,” he stated. “Such initiatives will not only benefit the engineers but also enhance the capacity of ISP organizations to deliver affordable and secure internet services to people’s doorsteps using the latest technologies.”
The workshop featured international trainers including Md. Mahbub Hasan Pavel, Imam Hasan Raja, Suman Kumar Saha, and Md. Shamsuzzaman.
Participants noted that the training enabled them to learn, through practical labs, how to build internet networks, troubleshoot technical issues, and extend safe broadband internet services to remote communities. They also expressed hope that ISPAB would organize at least two technical training programs annually in Rajshahi, which would greatly benefit engineers working in rural and underserved areas.
