Meta Maps $1 Billion Wisconsin Data Center Amid AI Ambitions

As part of its growing investment in artificial intelligence technologies, Meta Platforms is planning to build a nearly $1 billion data center in Wisconsin, according to a report by Bloomberg News on Friday. (Source: Reuters)

Citing documents reviewed by Bloomberg, the report notes that Wisconsin officials signed a multi-year agreement in February for a data center project valued at around $837 million with a then-unnamed company. It has since been revealed that the company involved is Meta.

Neither Meta nor the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has provided any comment on the matter.

The surging demand for AI capabilities is pushing Meta to spend up to $65 billion on infrastructure this year. However, analysts caution that former President Donald Trump’s renewed tariff policies may disrupt such major investments by big tech firms.
