Google Enhances ‘Find My Device’ with Real-Time Location Sharing

Google is rolling out a new update to its "Find My Device" app for Android users, introducing real-time location sharing with trusted contacts. With the addition of a new "People" tab, users can now view the live location of their approved contacts, including addresses, distances, and the time of the latest update.

Although Google Maps has long provided location-sharing features, this update makes the process more accessible within the "Find My Device" app. Users will be able to see a consolidated list of contacts they are sharing their location with and those who are sharing their location with them.

Google first announced this feature during its March "Pixel Drop" event, and it is now gradually rolling out to users. With this enhancement, the "Find My Device" app is set to become a more competitive alternative to Apple’s "Find My" service.
