JUST and BASM Forge Partnership to Enhance Business Education
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Faculty of Business Studies at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) and the Bangladesh Academy for Securities Markets (BASM) to foster professional skill development in business education, focusing on establishing educational centers, research collaborations, and other shared objectives.
The MoU signing ceremony took place on Monday at the Vice Chancellor’s conference room in the administrative building of JUST. Dr. Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, signed the agreement on behalf of JUST, while Dr. Tawfiq Ahmed Chowdhury, Director General of BASM, represented his institution. The signing was coordinated by Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib, Registrar of JUST, and Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Chairman of the Finance and Banking (FB) Department.
Under this MoU, students from JUST’s Faculty of Business Studies will have the opportunity to engage in collaborative research projects between the two institutions. Additionally, the agreement will provide students with hands-on experience through internships, particularly in areas like securities exchange and financial education. This collaboration aims to equip students with the practical skills necessary for building successful and smooth professional careers.
The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures from both institutions, including JUST’s Deputy Registrar Mohammad Emdadul Haque, Assistant Professor of FB Department A.H.M. Shahariar, Dr. Rohan Sarwar and Saddam Hossain from BASM, Assistant Director Aslam Sheikh, Lecturer Fazlur Rahman from the Accounting and Information Systems Department, Lecturer Md. Shahnur Rahman from the FB Department, and Lecturers S.M. Monirul Islam and Md. Belal Hossain from the Marketing Department.
