After 10 consecutive days, more than 13 crore customers regained their Internet connection on 4G network even on mobile phones slowly before 3 pm on Sunday. However, in the first hour, no message of free 5GB data for three days as promised came from the operators.

However, as usual, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter) are also off from mobile data. Apart from this, while YouTube can be viewed on broadband internet services, YouTube cannot be viewed on mobile internet services.

Netizens of the country have shared this news with each other in an alternative way even though they cannot directly connect to social media on mobile internet. Many posted on social media and expressed their relief, "Come on, finally mobile internet is available. But it is not working. What to do with such a slow net? “

The Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak did not say anything specific about stopping these apps. Earlier, in a briefing at BTRC building in capital's Agargaon, the state minister said that customers will get a bonus of five GB for three days. When asked, the state minister did not specify which apps will be on the 4G network.

Broadband internet services have been available since July 23, but Facebook and TikTok are closed there. In addition, WhatsApp is also experiencing difficulty in exchanging messages. But YouTube is running. Before this, the slowness of mobile internet started from last July 16 around the quota reform movement. After that, to prevent violence and rumors, the 3G and 4G services on the mobile operator company's SIM were stopped from July 17 (Thursday) by the government's verbal order. As a result, customers are not able to do any work online using mobile data for about 11 days today.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Mobile Phone Consumers' Association urged the government to form an independent enquiry committee to find out the real causes of the unprecedented five-day internet blackout as they are confused about the authenticity of government narrative that the damaged infrastructure alone caused internet blackout.
