ECCE-2025: International Conference on Electrical, Computer, and Communication Engineering Begins at CUET

The Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has inaugurated the “International Conference on Electrical, Computer, and Communication Engineering (ECCE-2025)” at the university’s IT Business Incubator. The three-day international conference has gathered leading academicians, scientists, researchers, scholars, and decision-makers from over 15 countries. The event will feature five keynote papers and four invited papers. Out of 1,188 submitted research papers, a total of 527 will be presented, including 263 online presentations and 264 offline presentations.
The conference was inaugurated on Thursday, February 13, 2025, by the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Professor Dr. S.M.A. Fayez. In his keynote address, he emphasized the necessity of technological advancements to keep pace with the modern world. “To move forward in today’s world, we must excel in information technology. Continuous efforts in gaining new knowledge and fostering innovation are essential. Conferences like this, which bring together skilled researchers and experts, play a crucial role in this endeavor,” he stated. He also expressed optimism about emerging researchers, adding, “The future of science and technology will progress in their hands, and I believe this conference will provide valuable guidance for newcomers.”
The event featured Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of CUET, as the Guest of Honor. Special guests included Professor Dr. Mohammad Mashiul Haque, President of the IEEE Bangladesh Section and Director of CUET’s IT Business Incubator, as well as Professor Dr. Asaduzzaman, Director of UGC’s Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project and a faculty member of CUET’s CSE Department.
The conference is presided over by its Chair, Professor Dr. Mohammad Samsul Arefin, who also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Conference Secretary Professor Dr. Nipu Kumar Das of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering delivered the welcome speech. Additional remarks were given by Conference Technical Secretary Professor Dr. Md. Zahedul Islam of the ETE Department and TPC Chair Professor Dr. Md. Rubaiyat Tanvir Hossain of the EEE Department. The event was conducted by Professor Dr. Rashed Md. Murad Hasan of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department.
In his speech as Guest of Honor, CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan highlighted the importance of a strong foundation in information technology for sustainable development. “We must establish a strong position in information technology to ensure sustainable progress. The dissemination of IT-based knowledge in our society is crucial. To tackle the challenges of the global landscape, young researchers must be well-prepared in the IT sector. Conferences like this will provide the necessary guidance to our young researchers,” he stated.
