BSCL has stopped broadcasting of two televisions due to bill arrears

Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited has stopped broadcasting on private television stations SATV and Channel Nine due to non-payment of arrears till December last year for services through Bangabandhu Satellite-1. BSCL chairman Shahjahan Mahmud confirmed the information to the media on Friday. He said their satellite service was shut down on Thursday night. However, SATV has already taken steps to pay the arrears and Channel Nine also will pay the bills soon, he said. At present, 32 private television stations and four government television stations are running in the country through Bangabandhu Satellite-1. Besides, DTH (Direct to Home) service is also being provided through Bangabandhu Satellite-1.
