The reason for killing of Fahim Saleh revealed
Fahim Saleh, an information technology entrepreneur of Bangladesh origin, was murdered in his apartment on July 13, 2020 in New York, USA. A few months later, his personal assistant, Tyrese Haspel, was arrested and put on trial for his involvement in the brutal murder. Reports The Time News.
But almost four years after Haspel brutally murdered his employer, Fahim Saleh, the reason has come to light. Haspel's lawyers claim Fahim Saleh stole thousands of dollars from Haspel. And he killed Fahim by beheading to hide the theft.
This information has emerged in a report of the American media New York Post. According to reports, Haspel used the stolen money to gift his French girlfriend Marine Chavez days before Fahim's murder.
The trial began on October 13, 2020, with the indictment of Haspel in a Manhattan, New York court in the Fahim murder case.
During a hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court, Haspel's lawyer, Sam Robert, said Haspel committed the murder out of fear that the theft would be discovered and that his girlfriend would leave him after knowing the matter.
Faheem Saleh, a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin, co-founded of the ride-sharing platform Pathao. He established information technology companies in Bangladesh as well as in the United States.
Haspel looked after the financial and personal affairs of Fahim's company in New York. According to a source related to the investigation, Haspel embezzled a large sum of money ($4 lakh) from Fahim.
Fahim did not take any legal action against Haspel after the matter was discovered. Instead, he was given the opportunity to pay the money. But Haspel kept stealing the money through PayPal accounts.
Haspel was caught again this time. Fahim planned to kill Saleh to avoid paying for the previous theft and to avoid possible legal action.
The government prosecutor presented the detailed facts of Fahim's murder to the court. They claim that Haspel killed Fahim in cold blood. He first knocked Fahim unconscious using a taser gun (a type of electrical device) while wearing a mask.
Police identified Haspel on the basis of that Taser sound. After the murder, Haspel bought cleaning equipment including an electric saw to dismember Fahim's body. Video footage of the purchase of these items was also found.
According to the American media CNN, in addition to planned murder, Haspel has been accused of financial loot, theft, attempted disappearance of a body and destruction of evidence.
Lawyers highlighted Haspel’s emotional distress and painful childhood behind the murder. Haspel faces up to life in prison if convicted. However, his lawyers hope that the sentence may be reduced considering his alleged mental state.
