Ukraine has banned the popular messaging app Telegram on the official devices of its various forces and government employees. The ban was imposed by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Service, citing potential security risks associated with this Russian app. This was reported by both the BBC and Reuters.

According to the reports, Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council has prohibited its military personnel and civilian employees from using the Telegram messaging app on official devices for security reasons.

The press service of the Security Council stated on their Facebook page that this decision was made during a meeting of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center.

The Security Council's statement noted, "It is prohibited for government officials, military personnel, security and defense workers, and critical infrastructure operators to install and use Telegram on their official devices."
