The preparatory programming competition has organized the "BD Girls Coding" project to enhance the computer programming skills of high school girls. The competition called "BD Girls Coding Practice Contest-1" was held on Sunday (February 20, 2022) afternoon. The competition was organized by Eco-BD and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) under the auspices of Educational Charitable and Humanitarian Organization (Eco-USA), an American based charity. Competitions have been organized for high school girls to enhance their skills in problem solving through coding. Earlier, students were given online and offline programming workshops on C programming language. Competitions have been organized to test the skills after the course. The girls in the competition were allowed to solve problems related to the early stages of programming. The competition was organized using the platform at online jazz "Tough (toph.co)". 71 female students participated in this competition. In order to involve women entrepreneurs in technology, it is necessary to teach coding to girls from school level. For this reason, the government of Bangladesh has added programming subject in the textbooks of high school. Efforts are being made from this project to stay ahead in learning lessons in the classroom. Under the project, programming camps, workshops and competitions are being organized in backward schools and marginalized schools to get acquainted with programming. By conducting offline and online activities across the country, these activities are being conducted with the aim of making school girls aware of programming and making them fit for future work in science and technology. The project is being supported by Bangladesh Computer Council, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), Bangladesh Computer Society, Bangladesh Women in Technology and Internet Society-Bangladesh Chapter and Maksudul Alam Science Lab (MASLab).
