TECNO, the global AI-driven technology brand, has introduced EllaClaw, an experimental agentic AI assistant designed to make smartphone use more proactive, practical and personalized. By combining TECNO’s Ella assistant with the OpenClaw framework, the company aims to move beyond conventional question-and-answer interactions and help users complete everyday tasks. EllaClaw is currently in beta development.

Unlike a conventional chatbot, EllaClaw is being developed to understand context, learn user preferences and perform approved actions across a smartphone. Powered by more than 40 Smart Skills, it can identify apps consuming excessive battery power or mobile data, clean up RAM and CPU resources, reduce background activity and support smoother device performance. Important changes still require user approval, keeping users in control of their devices.

With the user's permission, EllaClaw can also assist with tasks such as shopping, booking transportation, ordering food and managing smart home applications. Its Cross-app Automation feature enables it to coordinate actions across multiple apps. For example, a user can provide a single voice or text instruction, and the assistant can help book a ride through a ride-sharing app, order food online, purchase a product or complete other tasks across different applications. The process remains visible to the user, making it easier to monitor and control each step.

Technology publications have highlighted EllaClaw as an example of artificial intelligence evolving from conversation to action. Android Authority reported that the OpenClaw-powered assistant could automate routine smartphone tasks and combine information across apps. GadgetMatch, meanwhile, emphasized its focus on practical phone maintenance, personalized routines and cross-app support.

Market research firm Counterpoint Research has also placed EllaClaw within the emerging “Agent Phone” movement. Its analysis describes how smartphones are evolving from passive AI tools into proactive systems capable of interpreting user intent and completing multi-step actions. The report highlighted TECNO’s focus on practical, system-level AI and the potential to make advanced agentic features more accessible beyond premium devices.

In countries such as Bangladesh, where smartphones have become essential for work, education, communication, business and everyday services, technologies like EllaClaw could make smartphone experiences easier and more efficient. TECNO says it is working to ensure that advanced AI capabilities are not limited to premium devices but can eventually reach a wider range of users.

EllaClaw remains in the development and testing phase. TECNO has yet to announce when the assistant will become available to all users or which additional features may be introduced.
