The first meeting of the committee responsible for advising, monitoring, and improving the quality of services at the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat Medical Center was held today. Chaired by Committee President and Whip Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Opu, the meeting was attended by committee members Whip Moazzem Hossain (Akteruzzaman Miah) and Ikramul Bari Tipu, MP. Key decisions were adopted to upgrade the medical center into a standard and modern healthcare facility.

During the meeting, strong emphasis was placed on amending the organogram to increase doctors, nurses, and other staff to expand medical services. A proposal was raised to construct a 10-bed hospital to enhance the center's capacity. To modernize medical equipment, detailed discussions took place regarding the establishment of a modern physiotherapy center, along with upgrading echo, ECG, CT scan, OPG, RPG, pathology machines, and setting up an ICU-equipped ambulance. The committee advised sending an official letter through the Parliament Secretariat to the Ministry of Finance for special budget allocation.

Additionally, a proposal was introduced to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent neighboring hospitals to ensure advanced and guaranteed medical care for patients referred from the Parliament Medical Center.

Senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat, including the Additional Secretary (F&PR), were present at the meeting.
