Addressing critical mechanical vulnerabilities in landing gear assemblies, a domestic commercial airliner operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines completed a successful emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA). As part of standard precautionary protocol, the airport runway remained closed from 3:00 PM on 10 October, Saturday. Following clearance inspections and safety verifications, normal flight operations resumed at 3:40 PM.

Aviation operational authorities confirmed that the runway closure forced an inbound international flight from Kathmandu, operated by Himalaya Airlines, into an extended holding pattern over Dhaka airspace. Once clearance was secured, the foreign carrier touched down first, followed by the systematic resumption of delayed arrivals and departures.

Technical accounts revealed that the Bombardier Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft suffered an in-flight detachment of one of its rear landing gear wheels after departing Cox's Bazar. The flight departed Cox's Bazar Airport at 1:35 PM with a scheduled arrival of 2:30 PM. Constrained by mechanical irregularities, the crew circled the terminal airspace for nearly 40 minutes, burning excess fuel before executing a controlled landing at 3:10 PM.

An official release from Biman Bangladesh Airlines stated that the flight touched down safely at 3:10 PM after experiencing operational and technical delays. Due to precise operational handling by the flight crew, all passengers and crew members disembarked without injuries, official sources confirmed.
