Harnessing breakthrough computational architectures, intelligent agentic algorithms, and distributed cybersecurity frameworks, global engineering scholars and tech researchers assembled at the third International Conference on Computing, Applications, and Systems (COMPAS). Jointly organized by the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Dhaka, the two-day technical symposium opened at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy.

The inaugural session featured Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Mohammad Almozaddedi Alfechani as the chief guest, with Treasurer Prof. Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury serving as the special guest, under the chairmanship of CSE Department Chairman and Conference General Chair Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque. Following rigorous technical evaluations, the conference accepted 212 peer-reviewed research papers out of 616 submissions, marking a competitive acceptance rate of 34.4 percent.

The academic agenda spans eight core research tracks: intelligent systems, natural language processing, visual computing, big data analytics, cyber-physical and edge systems, distributed security paradigms, and advanced quantum computing. Specialized technical paper sessions are hosted at the CSE department premises, while keynote plenary discussions take place at Bangla Academy. International scientists from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia are presenting actionable findings on biological image analysis, transit telemetry, foundation models for digital agriculture and healthcare, and autonomous agentic AI systems.

A high-level plenary track scheduled for the second day brings together delegates from public universities, the UGC, BdREN, and enterprise banking networks to evaluate AI adoption in higher academia, computational infrastructure, and research ethics. The valedictory session will feature Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milan as the chief guest, ICT Division Secretary Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan as special guest, and Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam presiding over the proceedings. The comprehensive conference roadmap had earlier been announced during a press briefing at the CSE department conference room on 08 October, Thursday.
