Upgrading digital identification infrastructure and access control, the Ministry of Home Affairs made One-Time Password (OTP) verification mandatory for all visitors entering the Bangladesh Secretariat. Issued on Wednesday (September 30), the security circular signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Tofael Hossain enforces strict automated clearance protocols at all entry checkpoints.
The ministry directive noted a rising trend of visitors attempting to access the Secretariat complex without valid entry passes or pre-authorized credentials. Authorities highlighted that unverified entries compromise physical and data security across high-level government offices while disrupting routine administrative workflows.
Under the new tech-enabled security protocol, security personnel must verify every visitor’s identity using system-generated OTP authentication before granting entrance permission into the Secretariat grounds.
