BFIU Summons Bank Account Details of Content Creator Salman Muqtadir
The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has requested the bank account details of popular content creator Salman Muqtadir. On Wednesday, September 30, BFIU issued an urgent letter to The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), the anti-money laundering agency of Bangladesh Bank, has requested the bank account records of popular content creator Salman Muqtadir.
On Wednesday (September 30), BFIU dispatched an urgent notice to all commercial banks and non-bank financial institutions operating in Bangladesh. Officials from several leading banks confirmed receiving the directive.
According to the official letter, institutions have been instructed to send complete information regarding Salman Muqtadir’s bank accounts—including account opening forms, Know Your Customer (KYC) documents, and itemized transaction histories—to BFIU within 30 minutes of receiving the letter.
The financial probe follows an incident on Saturday night (September 26), when Salman Muqtadir’s studio, 'Brown Fish', was vandalized and looted. Law enforcement personnel subsequently detained several individuals linked to the raid. On Monday (September 28), Salman posted a video message stating that he would not seek financial compensation or damages from anyone for the incident. Shortly after the studio event, financial intelligence authorities initiated the review of his banking activities.
