Bangladesh is seeking deeper technology partnerships with Italian manufacturers to accelerate industrial modernization, with advanced textile machinery and smart manufacturing solutions taking center stage at a Business-to-Business (B2B) workshop in Chattogram.

Italian Ambassador Antonio Alessandro said Bangladesh currently offers a favorable environment for business and investment, adding that Italian companies are ready to support the country's textile sector with advanced manufacturing equipment, digital quality control systems, and modern production technologies to improve product diversification and global competitiveness.

Participants emphasized that technology collaboration should extend beyond machinery imports to include local service centers, technical support, operator training, and joint technology training institutes, ensuring sustainable technology transfer and workforce development.

Chittagong Chamber President Mohammad Amirul Hoque highlighted the region's growing importance through the development of economic zones, free trade zones, and logistics infrastructure, positioning Chattogram as a future industrial and logistics hub for South and Southeast Asia.

Honorary Consul of Italy Mirza Salman Ispahani noted the increasing demand for Italian industrial technologies in Bangladesh's textile sector, saying B2B engagements help expand technical knowledge sharing, industrial innovation, and business collaboration between companies from both countries.

Industry observers believe that adopting Italian automation systems, Industry 4.0 solutions, smart manufacturing technologies, AI-assisted production management, and energy-efficient industrial machinery could significantly improve productivity, product quality, and export competitiveness across Bangladesh's textile, leather, steel, and broader manufacturing sectors.
