Leading endocrinologists and obstetric specialists gathered in Dhaka to discuss the latest scientific advances in managing endocrine disorders during pregnancy at the seminar titled "Pregnancy and Common Endocrine Disorders." Organized by the Women's Health Task Force of the Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES), the event focused on improving maternal and fetal outcomes through evidence-based clinical practice.

The scientific program brought together physicians from government and private hospitals, medical colleges, and specialized healthcare institutions to exchange knowledge on evidence-based medicine, updated clinical guidelines, and multidisciplinary patient care.

Presentations covered the latest approaches to gestational diabetes, adrenal insufficiency, thyroid malignancy in pregnancy, prolactinoma, Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), and Graves' disease, highlighting recent research findings, case-based management strategies, and international treatment recommendations. Experts emphasized the growing role of precision medicine in delivering personalized endocrine care during pregnancy.

Chief Guest Professor Dr. Maliha Rashid noted that endocrine disorders during pregnancy affect not only maternal health but also fetal development, underscoring the importance of coordinated care between endocrinologists and obstetricians.

Professor Dr. Md. Faruk Pathan, Chief Patron of the Bangladesh Endocrine Society, stressed that continuous updates in medical research and treatment guidelines make Continuing Medical Education (CME) and scientific seminars essential for maintaining high-quality clinical practice.

BES President Dr. Faria Afsana highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary care models, while Women's Health Task Force Convener Professor Dr. Tanzina Hossain said timely diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and adherence to international clinical recommendations can significantly reduce complications for both mothers and newborns.

Health technology experts believe that Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), telemedicine, AI-assisted risk assessment, and data-driven clinical guidelines will play an increasingly important role in improving the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of endocrine disorders during pregnancy.
