Pixel Preview: Google Sets August 12 Hardware Showcase
Tech giant Google is set to hold its highly anticipated annual Made by Google hardware event on August 12 in New York City. Following mixed reactions to last year's event, which featured appearances by celebrities including Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Curry, and Jonas Brothers, technology enthusiasts are hoping this year's presentation will place greater emphasis on product announcements and technical details.
Rumors and leaks surrounding Google's upcoming flagship Pixel 11 lineup have already gained significant attention. According to invitation materials reported by The Verge and Bloomberg, the new devices may introduce notable design changes. Among the most widely discussed is the addition of a new gold color option for the Pixel 11 series.
According to various leaked reports, the Pixel 11 base model may feature slimmer display bezels along with a smoother, black rear camera bar.
The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to arrive with a thinner profile than its predecessor.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could feature a completely redesigned rear camera bump and a noticeably lighter body compared with the previous generation.
However, there may also be disappointing news for prospective buyers. One report suggests that Google could eliminate the entry-level 128GB storage option, meaning the Pixel 11 lineup may start with 256GB of storage. If accurate, the higher base storage configuration could result in an increase in the series' starting prices.
At its August 20, 2025 event, Google unveiled the Pixel 10 series, a range of new AI features, the Pixel Watch 4, and the second-generation budget-friendly A-Series earbuds. Technology enthusiasts are now looking ahead to August 12 to see what new innovations Google will introduce alongside the Pixel 11 lineup.
