Bangladesh Signs 4 Major MoUs with Chinese Media Giants in Beijing
Bangladesh has signed four significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with China's Xinhua News Agency and China Media Group (CMG) in Beijing to boost media and tech cooperation.
Bangladesh has signed four crucial Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with China's leading state media outlets to expand opportunities for joint research on Global South media, technological integration, broadcasting collaboration, and professional exchange.
The signing ceremony took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with the heads of Xinhua News Agency and China Media Group (CMG). Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon signed the agreements on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh on Thursday (June 25), in the presence of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
Under these newly signed MoUs, a long-term media partnership and institutional framework for news and information exchange have been established between Bangladesh and China. Officials expect that these agreements will further strengthen the existing friendly ties between the two nations and open up new horizons for mutual growth in the mass media and information technology sectors.
Notably, Information Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon had left Dhaka for China on June 23 to join the Prime Minister's state visit. The Prime Minister, along with the official delegation, is scheduled to return home tomorrow night, June 26.
