Tarique Rahman has expressed gratitude in response to Eid-ul-Adha greetings sent by Narendra Modi. In a Facebook post shared on Thursday afternoon, May 28, he thanked Modi and expressed hope for stronger bilateral ties between Bangladesh and India.

In the post, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman wrote, “On this joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for conveying greetings to me and the people of Bangladesh. May the relationship between the peoples of Bangladesh and India become even stronger on the foundation of mutual respect, friendship, and goodwill.”

He also expressed hope that cordial relations and mutual cooperation between the peoples of the two neighbouring countries would grow stronger in the future.

Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Adha greetings to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the people of Bangladesh. In a message sent through the High Commission of India in Dhaka, Modi said that Eid-ul-Adha embodies the timeless ideals of sacrifice, compassion, and brotherhood, which play an important role in building a peaceful and inclusive world.

The Indian Prime Minister further stated, “India and Bangladesh share deep-rooted ties based on shared sacrifices, cultural affinities, and mutual aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity.” He also reiterated his interest in working closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen cooperation in various sectors.

According to diplomatic analysts, the exchange of greetings and public messages between the two prime ministers is being viewed as a symbol of mutual trust and positive relations between the two South Asian neighbours.
