Rooppur Reactor Milestone: 60+ Staff Honoured After Successful Fuel Loading
More than 60 officials and employees working on the under-construction Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project in Ishwardi have been honoured following the successful completion of the “physical startup” or fuel loading process for the project’s first unit.
The awards were handed over during a ceremony held inside the project area on Friday, 15 May. According to the organisers, the recognition was given in acknowledgement of the recipients’ professionalism, responsibility, and significant contributions to the construction work and preparations for commissioning the first unit.
Engineers, officials, and employees from different phases of the project attended the event. Congratulating the award recipients, speakers said the physical startup of the first unit of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant marks a major milestone in the country’s energy sector. They noted that the achievement represents another important step forward in the implementation of the project.
The speakers further said the accomplishment reflects the coordinated efforts, expertise, and dedication of the agencies involved in the project. They added that reaching the milestone was possible due to the sincere commitment and hard work of the officials and employees associated with the project.
